Although the exact date of its foundation is unknown, Strabon reports that Side, a powerful port city of Pamphylia in Antiquity, was established in the 7th century BC as a colony of Kyme (Aliağa), one of the cities of Western Anatolia. The Side Theatre, located at the narrowest point of the peninsula where the ancient settlement lies, is the first monument to draw attention within the city. The theatre holds a distinctive place among this building type, as it preserves the characteristics of the Anatolian theatres in the Hellenistic style while also resembling examples from Western Rome.

The project includes Documentation – Problem Analysis, Material Analysis, Historical Research – Restitution, Intervention Decisions – Restoration, Civil and Electrical Engineering projects.
